— Angela Pimento Fullwood

Born and raised in Tampa, Florida, Angela Pimento Fullwood is a proven, effective leader with over 35 years of experience as a Hillsborough County Public Schools educator.

Growing up in the River Grove area of East Tampa, Angela's upbringing in an Afro-Cuban household speaks to core Tampeño traditions and her family’s legacy of public service. Angela is a product of Hillsborough County Public Schools and a graduate of King High School.

Drawing inspiration and guidance from her family's rich history of educational excellence, Angela is a fourth-generation educator who began her work in public education as a Teacher’s Aide at Witter Elementary.

Angela married her high school sweetheart, Darrick Fullwood. They went on to have four children together, later suffering the loss of one of their sons.

After completing her degree in Elementary Education from Nova Southeastern University, she went on to teach elementary school students across the Hillsborough County Public Schools District. In just her second year of teaching, Angela was nominated by her peers and won Teacher of the Year!

After a decade of teaching in the classroom, Angela pursued her Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida and earned her role as an Assistant Principal, at Sulphur Springs, Lewis, and Pizzo Elementary Schools, respectively. Her perseverance and many achievements escalated her to the District’s Title I office as an Extended Reading Time Coordinator.

In the years before her retirement, Angela led Hillsborough County Public Schools’ Family & Community Engagement (FACE) program with a strong commitment to fostering student growth, providing essential school supports, and teaching the importance of authentic family and community engagement.
